Capital.com, a London-headquartered global
broker, has appointed IG Group’s Niamh Byrne as its Head of UK and Ireland.
Byrne joined the company after spending 14 years at IG Group. Until the new
appointment, she was the Head of UK B2B2C Sales at London-based IG Group.

Capital.com announced Byrne’s appointment
on Wednesday in a statement shared with Finance Magnates. The broker said Byrne
will help to drive its UK business as well as provide support for the execution
of its new deal with forex and CFDs broker, OvalX.

“Niamh will be responsible for building
strong client relationships and driving overall strategy to ensure optimal
client satisfaction and growth,” Capital.com noted.

Finance Magnates reports that the brokerage is taking steps to purchase the client
assets of OvalX
. Under the deal, OvalX in a joint statement with Capital.com says it will offer
some of its existing retail and professional clients the opportunity to
transfer their accounts to the company so that they can continue trading without
disruption.

“I am thrilled to be joining a great team
at Capital.com. The UK and EU are strategically important markets for
Capital.com. With this agreement [with OvalX], we will be in a good position to further
broaden our portfolio of products and accelerate our development,” Byrne
said.

Apart from IG Group, Byrne also worked
for RBC Dexia Investor Services between October 2008 and March 2009. The
company offers custody, fund and investment administration, among other
financial services. Furthermore, between March
2007 and September 2008, Byrne served as Client Services Professional with Davy,
Ireland’s largest stockbroker, wealth manager and asset manager.

In recent months, Capital.com has tapped
other IG Group executives to strengthen its executive team. In December, the
broker hired IG Group’s longtime executive, Greg Adams, as
its Head of Risk. A month earlier the broker also onboarded Alessandro Capuano, IG Group’s Head of Exchange Traded Product, to
become its Head of Europe. Capuano once spent almost 13 years at IG Group.
