The Dow Industrial Average rose 330.93 points or 1.00% at 33375.50; S&P index rose 73.74 points or 1.89% at 3972.60; and NASDAQ index rose 288.18 points or 2.66% at 11140.44. Australian inflation data this week – the RBA will be eyeing it for the February 7 meeting. China is on holiday all next week. Hong Kong and Singapore also for around half of it. On Friday, Fed Gov. Christopher Waller said he favors just a quarter-point hike on Feb. 1, when the central bank gives its next interest rate policy update. U.S. benchmark crude oil lost 35 cents to $81.29 per barrel in electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange. It gained $1.03 to $81.64 per barrel on Friday. Brent crude the price benchmark for international trading, gave up 40 cents to $87.23 per barrel. U.S. futures mostly lower. Dow Jones +0.01%; S&P 500 -0.05%; Nasdaq -0.02%.
