I was talking today with a dev friend about crypto fuckups and this came come to our mind. Do you remember when 11,539 ETH (currently $20,146,747.83) where almost locked forever because of a bad line of code? Back in 2022 AkuDreams contract which was poorly developed could have caused this drama in which bid count tracker was calculated incorrectly causing a permanent validation failing and preventing withdrawal of the minted funds. The funny part is that dev team ignored people warnings but fortunately the exploiter decided to be good and all money could be saved. You can read the whole thread explaining it: Twitter: https://twitter.com/dapperSBD/status/1517766010442375168 Nitter Link: https://nitter.net/dapperSBD/status/1517766010442375168 Happy End This is a reminder to ALL devs in the world. Follow always developing good practices and ALWAYS do the necessary tests and use a testnet environment before releasing things to production, specially when it comes to other people's money. submitted by /u/kirtash93 [comments]
